We are all striving for abundance-whether it be a fulfilling relationship, a fulfilling career, financial abundance, a fulfilling Spiritual life, or an abundance of time for self care. We want all dimensions of our life to be full and thriving. We spend countless hours dreaming of our Ideal Life, and then it usually ends there. Do you ever wonder why we stop at visualizing or daydreaming about our Ideal Life? Why many of us get stuck in this dreaming stage. When we clearly know there is a gap between where we are and where we want to be. When we come to from our daydreaming and 'snap out of it', we immediately chastise ourself for being so "silly and foolish" thinking we can have all of the things we desire in our life. We move into an acceptance that "this is as good as it is going to get", even though we know deep down there is more to life. Studies show we spend almost 50% of waking hours daydreaming, and at least 2 of those hours are spent thinking about how life could be better if...we won the lottery, we had a better body, if we had an amazing partner, if we made more money...and the list can go on.
Why do we choose to live with so much regret?
Creating an abundant life takes courage.
Many of us want immediate results and satisfaction when it comes to abundance. That is why 50% of Americans purchase lottery tickets and spend a total of $72 billion per year on lottery tickets. That is why dating sites like Tinder, Bumble, and OKCupid surged by 700% in activity (of course during the pandemic, but you get the point!). We want immediate results without putting in much work.
Creating an abundant life takes time and intention.
Many people mistake the manifestation process as a "quick fix". Some think manifestation simply means putting a desire into the Universe and you shall receive. While we definitely need to speak our desires into the Universe, there are so many emotional, mental, and spiritual shifts that need to occur for the manifestation process to be fulfilled. The same is true for abundance.
Here are 5 courageous steps to take to embrace the Abundance that has always been in your life:
1. Let go of the victim mindset. When we hold this victim mindset, we have the belief that life is happening "to" us. This belief creates the illusion that we have absolutely no power in what happens in our life, and no power in how we even choose to view the situations and events that are occurring in our life. It puts all of the responsibility on the Universe. And although the Universe is very powerful, this belief is false. There are things that may seem outside of our control. We may not be able to control others, but we can definitely control who, and what, we allow into our lives. We also choose how to perceive the world and our life within the world. We create our reality. This is sometimes a hard pill to swallow.
2. Take 100% responsibility for the reality of your life. Like I said, this can be a super scary step. We release blaming others for our current situation. We release blaming the Universe, God, the Divine, our family, our past, and others who have hurt us throughout life. Although it is important to understand where your false and limiting beliefs originated, which is usually from past hurtful experiences, it is even more important to take responsibility for your own the healing of these past hurts and change your current reality.
3. Challenge self limiting beliefs. Self limiting beliefs are formed by situations in our life that created a limiting experience-usually experiences that left you feeling fearful and doubtful of your abilities. It's that experience of being bullied. It's the memory of someone you depended on not being there for you, or even hurting you. These beliefs lead to the "shoulds" in life. They are the voice that tells you that you are not enough, and possibly that your worth depends on your productivity and busyness. They are the fears that prevent you from establishing healthy boundaries with your boss, your significant other, your children, your family, and friends. They are the fears of judgement from others that lead to saying "yes" when we really want to say "no". This is what you are going up against when you challenge your self limiting beliefs.
4. Align with your Authentic Self. The way we heal our limiting beliefs is through our alliance with our Authentic Self. Once we begin recognizing and truly believing that our worth lies within, and that the Universe supports us and wants us to live our most joyful, passionate, and inspirational life, we are able to rise to higher levels of abundance. This step requires us to open up our heart and mind. It requires us to treat ourselves and others with love and compassion. It requires us to deepen our connection with ourself, and our Spiritual Connection.
5. Take a leap of faith. You know that career path your soul has been yearning to do? Do it! Or that boundary you want to hold with your boss so you can go to your kids soccer game...express it! When we throw ourself into the unknown, amazing things are possible. When we think about taking the leap into the 'great unknown', we have this tendency to catastrophize-to think only of the worst case scenario. Taking a courageous leap of faith challenges us to identify all of the endless, amazing possibilities. When we take this action, we feel excitement and experience more moments, and higher levels, or joy.
So there you go...5 simple steps to embracing an abundant life. Through these steps, you will have endless opportunities for growth, unlimited possibilities to expand into your ideal Life Vision, financial abundance flowing freely to and from you, and reach more moments, and higher levels of joy.
To expand in this way, you will quickly find that you will need support and guidance. There are so many ways we can become stuck due to fear of the unknown and our deep rooted self limiting beliefs.
